Stria Lithium announces the commencement of stripping and channel sampling at its Jeremiah Project

Ottawa, ON – TheNewswire - May 02, 2024 - Stria Lithium Inc. (TSXV:SRA) (OTC:SRCAF)  (“Stria” or the “Company”) is excited to announce the launch of its latest exploration initiative at recently acquired  project Jeremiah, situated just 18 km from Sayona's North American Lithium operation—the largest source of hard rock lithium production in North America.   Building on promising preliminary data, Stria Lithium's current focus involves comprehensive stripping and channel sampling of exposed pegmatite outcrops. This effort follows initial findings from chip samples that demonstrated a lithium content of 0.54% (Li20). These activities are expected to yield critical data on the occurrences of spodumene and the potential of this favourable setting to host lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites.   Dean Hanisch, Stria’s CEO, stated, “ A fortunate development at Jeremiah is the recent forestry harvesting of the land by local authorities, which has significantly simplified project access and reduced the cost of the necessary stripping processes to expose Li-bearing host rocks. This not only speeds up the preparatory work but also minimizes environmental impact, aligning with Stria’s commitment to sustainable and responsible exploration practices ”.   The Jeremiah project is strategically positioned where the fertile LaMotte batholith intersects the volcanic host rocks, a geological setting similar to other productive sites in the vicinity. The Company has successfully secured all necessary permits from landholders and public authorities for the upcoming operations.   Stria has contracted local experts to carry out the fieldwork, which is anticipated to conclude within seven days. Samples collected during this phase will be promptly sent to laboratories for assay, with results expected to guide further exploration and development strategies based on their analysis.   Stria Lithium capitalized on the recent market dip to acquire a promising property only 18 km away from Canada’s sole North American lithium producer/concentrator, aligning with the Company’s strategy to identify ore bodies near existing or developing mines to facilitate ore sales or liquidity events without requiring capital expenditure. Cygnus Metals, being an ASX issuer, adhered to Australian JORC Code 2012 guidelines, meaning that such mineral resource estimate is not necessarily compliant with CIM and National Instrument NI 43-101 standards and the Company is not considering them as such at this time.   Cygnus Metals is committed to fully funding and managing the current two-stage exploration and drilling program to a maximum of $10 million at Stria’s Pontax property and will also pay Stria up to $6 million in cash. In return, Cygnus may acquire up to a 70% interest in the property. Cygnus has fulfilled its stage 1 requirements within the agreement and has now earned its 51% interest in the property. Stria’s other significant project, Pontax II covers 55 square kilometres, approximately 25 km to the west-south-west of Pontax Central and is located adjacent to the Billy-Diamond paved highway.  Stria has added to this project by recently acquiring 24 claims, for 1276.5 hectares that are strategically located northeast of Stria’s Pontax II claims. Pontax II claims are in highly active prospective zones, situated to the west southwest of Stria/Cygnus lithium discovery and situated to the west of the Patriot Battery Metals (PMET.V) Pontax project, and south of Brunswick Exploration (BRW.V). Stria’s Pontax properties are both situated close to an industrial powerline and a major paved highway, about 310 km north of the North American rail network that leads to the industrial heartland. Stria Lithium previously reported highly anomalous tantalum oxide grain counts in till samples up to 797 grains, the highest count ever recorded by the laboratory. The anomalies were evaluated in Autumn 2023, and final results are expected in coming weeks. Stria’s newest project, Jeremiah, resides within the Abitibi region of Quebec. The Jeremiah project consists of 12 titles for a total 683 hectares. Stria’s successful 100% optioning of the property was driven by a recently discovered spodumene-bearing pegmatite, considered a genuine LCT pegmatite, reported in outcrop in the centre of the property, which returned 0.54% Li2O (2500 ppm Li) from a grab sample.   The property is conveniently located near the village of St-Mathieu d'Harricana, and easily accessible through private forestry roads. Three more claims, isolated between 5 and 8 km to the west are also included in the land package.   Project Jeremiah is strategically located at the periphery of the LaMotte Batholith, straddling its northern contact with the Deguisier mafic volcanic formation and the sediments of the Caste Formation. The LaMotte Batholith, and its sister intrusion the LaCorne Batholith, are considered to be related to the source of the lithium pegmatite currently mined by Sayona Mining at their North American Lithium Mine, 22 km east of Jeremiah, as well as at their Authier project, 11 km to the southwest. All the numerous lithium occurrences in this area are located at the fringe of these intrusives, where the last differentiated magmas, such as lithium pegmatite, are injected. Flash Wins California Energy Commission $5.8M Grant for EV Charger ‘Innovation Lab’ in Oakland

The California Energy Commission (CEC) and Flash, a pioneer in parking + charging solutions, today announced Flash secured a $5.8 million grant from CEC for a large-scale electric vehicle (EV) charger demonstration project in Oakland, California. The first-of-its-kind project will deploy at least 446 low-cost Level 2 EV chargers over a two-year period in convenient, high-density, high-visibility installations in a 1.5-mile area around downtown Oakland. With $24 million in funding from California’s Clean Transportation Program, the CEC grant to Flash and other awardees aims to demonstrate replicable and scalable business and technology models to deploy Level 2 charging infrastructure and improve public awareness of and confidence in Level 2 charging access. Analyzing Execution Quality in Portfolio Trading

U.S. credit portfolio trading (PT) volumes have grown significantly over the past few years, with record volumes recorded through the first quarter of 2024 across the market as a whole and on the Tradeweb platform. As usage of the protocol evolves and new use cases arise, we continue to monitor the critical trends in portfolio trading and how they are impacting U.S. credit markets today. This analysis will explore one of the key drivers of the portfolio trading evolution: execution quality. As we discussed in a previous piece, execution “quality” can have many dimensions. In this piece, we will focus on the transaction cost - defined as the price paid for the basket versus market mid. We will delve into the core factors, including various portfolio trade construction and market factors, which influence trading costs and their implications for portfolio trading on Tradeweb. Bid/Offer Spread First, let’s look at measuring execution quality. We do this by calculating the percentage bid/offer spread (%BOS) captured in each trade by determining the gap between the Tradeweb Ai-Price bid/offer spread and the actual level of each completed trade. We use this metric to normalize the bid/offer spread across the liquidity spectrum. Within this construct, execution where the client is paying full bid/offer is represented as 0% and execution at Mid is 50%. As the chart below illustrates, we’ve seen a steady improvement in execution quality over the last couple of years, with %BOS captured trending around 40-45%, up from roughly 30% in 2022. This trend demonstrates that as portfolio trading volumes and adoption have grown, dealers have become more comfortable pricing their baskets competitively, with clients now trading closer to Mid than in years prior. Role of Pre-Trade Data The importance of reliable pre-trade data has also become an increasingly critical component in global credit markets. This theme is relevant throughout the trade life cycle in portfolio trading, beginning at the portfolio manager level, where it is used to help determine which bonds should be traded, and at the execution level, where it is used to help determine which dealers should receive the list. As leaders in portfolio trading, we have an abundance of reliable trade data to examine trends in execution quality and what they mean for the markets overall. We analyzed thousands of portfolio trades over dozens of attributes to identify the factors that proved to be statistically significant in explaining execution quality. These factors are broadly categorized as Portfolio and Market Factors: Portfolio Factors are properties the client can control within their portfolio trade construction. The most significant drivers within these factors were average line item size, weighted average liquidity score and ETF overlap; the percentage of bonds in a portfolio trade that are also constituents in the relevant ETF. For this analysis, we compared portfolio trades to iShares ETFs (LQD for Investment Grade portfolios and HYG for High Yield portfolios). Market Factors are properties outside the client’s control due to overall market conditions. The market factor that stood out the most was the ETF premium/discount at the time of execution. Portfolio Trade Construction Matters Digging deeper into these categories, if we look at the median %BOS captured across these baskets for each determining factor, we can begin to understand how these metrics drive execution quality. As outlined in the tables below, we see that as the notional per line item increases, the expected cost of the whole basket increases. This trend is not surprising, because it generally costs more to trade larger size risk. When that large size is spread over many line items at the basket level, the overall cost to trade the basket goes down. In terms of liquidity, generally, if a basket is more liquid, it will cost less to trade. The results around the ETF overlap are also intuitive. Generally, the closer to an ETF the portfolio trade is, the easier for dealers to hedge and price the basket. How do these portfolio construction factors interact? We can see from the tables above how the factors individually affect overall trade execution. However, it is also necessary to know how these factors interact as the effect of one factor may depend on others. We find this easiest to interpret if we analyze the execution quality from each bucket combination. Consider the table below. It illustrates that, on average, the best execution for investment grade portfolios is achieved when baskets have a size of less than 50,000 per line item and average liquidity score greater than seven and an LQD ETF overlap of more than 70%. This implies that by optimizing basket construction across all three metrics, it’s possible to attain better expected execution costs (0.4bp better than mid in the below example) than is implied by optimizing any one metric (0.1bp better than mid shown in the “Average Line Item Size” table above). This trend is also observed in High Yield (HY) portfolios. Market Factors – The ETF Premium/Discount Effect We also found that the premium/discount between the ETF market price and the intraday Net Asset Value (iNAV) of the underlying constituent bonds is essential in explaining overall trade cost. For example, consider a scenario where the constituent LQD bonds traded cheaper than LQD on the exchange. This market dislocation could prompt dealers to buy bonds to create shares of LQD, which they could then sell in the secondary market at a higher level than the underlying value of the bonds. Therefore, we found that if clients were selling (buying) portfolios when the bonds were cheaper than the ETF, they received better (worse) pricing. The upward slope on the chart below demonstrates this effect; as the premium gets larger, execution quality improves when clients are selling. This effect was symmetric for clients buying bonds from dealers when they were more expensive than the ETF, as shown by the downward slope below. Conclusion This analysis shows that portfolio composition and market-driven factors are essential in predicting a range in which a basket might typically trade. Tradeweb has taken these findings and incorporated them into our new pre-trade analytics for portfolio trading. By using these tools, clients can gain further insight into what drives execution quality and fine-tune portfolio trade construction, potentially unlocking more liquidity at better prices. Gold Price Surge Linked to Chinese Market Enthusiasm

Gold's meteoric rise this year despite headwinds has puzzled market observers. Since February, gold prices have remained well above the $2,000 mark and even briefly hit a record high over $2,400 in mid April. As it turns out, the rally may find its roots in China, particularly on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), where a surge in retail investors is reshaping the global gold market. 1 While gold markets in London and New York have seen increased activity, the SHFE stands out for its dramatic rise from a low base. This surge in trading volumes suggests a wave of Chinese investors propelling gold prices higher. China's traditional interest in gold as a savings tool has been revitalized by economic uncertainty and deglobalization, reflected in a 17-month buying spree by the People's Bank of China and increased consumer and institutional demand. This surge in demand has been augmented by a surge in speculative trading on the SHFE. However, not everyone agrees that Chinese investors are the sole drivers of gold's ascent. Jeff Christian, managing director at CPM Group, believes the trend is broad-based, encompassing both institutional and retail investors globally. Gold's future trajectory may hinge on the sustainability of Chinese interest. Some speculate that investors on the SHFE may be betting on short-term fluctuations in the yuan, particularly during the exchange's night sessions coinciding with shifts in US economic data. Despite gold prices increasing by over 25% since October 2023 lows, gold stocks have remained undervalued. 2 Fortunately, gold mining stocks are building steam as the market takes notice of the high-potential sector. West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. West Red Lake Gold Mines Unlocks More Value from Cleanup at Madsen Mill Since acquiring the Madsen Mine less than a year ago, West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. (TSXV:WRLG) (OTCQB:WRLGF) has been strategically moving it forward to a restart and a targeted timeline for gold production in 2025. On May 1, the company reported significant progress in their cleanup and gold recovery operations at the Madsen Mine, uncovering substantial amounts of previously unaccounted for gold. This initiative has already yielded 415 ounces of gold valued at approximately $750,000 from an initial recovery phase. Encouraged by these results, West Red Lake Gold began a more thorough cleanup in early 2024, with expectations to “recover a substantial amount of gold that was locked up in the milling circuit” by the end of May. At the Rowan Property, up to 15,000m of surface drilling is planned at the Rowan Mine deposit, starting in early June 2024. This fully funded drill program aims to expand on the existing high-grade mineral resource. Additional regional mapping and geochemical sampling programs will begin in June 2024 to generate new drill targets across the Rowan property. Earlier this month West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. (TSXV:WRLG) (OTCQB:WRLGF) announced significant drill results from the high-grade South Austin Zone at Madsen, which holds an Indicated mineral resource of 474,600 ounces of gold at 8.7 g/t and an Inferred resource of 31,800 ounces at the same grade. Key findings include 1.1 meters at 68.36 g/t gold, encompassing 0.5 meters at 145.44 g/t, and 3.95 meters at 13.83 g/t gold, which includes 0.5 meters at 105.72 g/t. These recent drill results are encouraging, and contribute to West Red Lake Gold 's strategy to build up a base of high-grade, high-confidence gold ounces vital for the early phases of mine production.
