Jersey Mike’s Subs announced today the return of its elementary school creativity competition in partnership with the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters. Known as the “Court of Creativity presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs,” the contest will award $1,000 to 10 finalists, and one grand prize-winning school will receive a visit from the Harlem Globetrotters before the end of the 2023-24 school year. The contest, which is currently active, launches in conjunction with International Creativity Month, which is celebrated every year in January. Entries will be accepted through March 31, 2024, with the grand prize-winning school to be announced on or around “World Creativity Day” on April 21, 2024. Winning entries will be judged on creative innovation as it relates to the sport of basketball, how the entry incorporates educational themes, the level of complexity, and overall creativity. The initiative is aimed to inspire elementary school students to do what they love in a way that also incorporates basketball – something the Harlem Globetrotters demonstrate every time on the court and in the community as Goodwill Ambassadors. Together, Jersey Mike’s Subs and the Harlem Globetrotters encourage students to get moving and start creating. School administrators, teachers, PTA representatives, and parents can submit a video or photo of an elementary school student in the U.S. showcasing their creativity HERE. Past students submitted trick shots, classroom STEM activities, Harlem Globetrotter-inspired art, basketball-inspired songs, extracurricular activities, and baked goods. Go create!” “Creativity is a critical part of what we do as the Harlem Globetrotters, and we’re excited to provide a platform to foster creative expression in kids with the help of our friends at Jersey Mike’s,” said Keith Dawkins, President of Harlem Globetrotters and Herschend Entertainment Studios ”Our CSR efforts (our Goodwill Ambassador Initiative) are focused around Education, Health & Wellness and Community Empowerment and this partnership is helping us make a deeper impact with the next generation of kids.” The program is powered by Campus Multimedia as they partner to support schools and leverage their trusted network to make schools aware of this exciting opportunity to inspire students to showcase their creativity. The “Court of Creativity presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs” contest is open to public, private, or vocational schools with grades Kindergarten through 5th and located in the United States.
